Jalisco’s Exports Are Growing
Jalisco has reached US$23,5 billion in exports during the second quarter of the year, allowing it to remain the country's largest non-border exporter.
According to an analysis conducted by the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco) using data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the figure represents a 130% increase compared to the same quarter of the previous year, while Chihuahua recorded growth of 87.3%, Nuevo León of 25.5%, Baja California of 9%, and Coahuila of 6%.
“Jalisco is the clear leader in Mexico’s exports. Not only is it the leading non-border state, but no other state in the country is growing at the same rate as Jalisco,” said Sedeco Director Cindy Blanco.
He noted that during the April–June period, Jalisco accounted for more than 12% of the country’s total exports, which, he said, reflects the ability of Jalisco-based companies to compete and strengthen their presence in global markets.
In this context, the dynamism of the computer equipment manufacturing sector was highlighted, with exports exceeding US$19,6 billion and annual growth of over 200%.
According to Sedeco, the increase in computer equipment exports and electronics confirms the state’s leadership in the artificial intelligence sector in Mexico, due to the many electronic components shipped from Jalisco for use in advanced systems and servers in that field.
In the first half of the year, from January through June 2026, Jalisco recorded US$40,9 billion in exports, a figure that represents an annual growth rate of approximately 120% and is equivalent to 78% of the total exports for 2025, when exports reached US$52,5 billion.
