Governor Tere Jiménez presided over the groundbreaking for a Safe Trucker Rest Stop in the community of Peñuelas, located in the southern part of the capital municipality—a project aimed at strengthening freight transport infrastructure and logistics operations in Aguascalientes.

“In Aguascalientes, commitments are kept. Today marks the start of a project that will soon become a reality here in Peñuelas, thanks to a 100-million-peso investment and the creation of 360 new jobs for local families. This facility will provide services, rest areas, and security for those who transport cargo and travel long distances across our country. Through concrete actions, we acknowledge the value and importance of the work done by those who move goods and drive Mexico’s commerce. Thank you very much for your labor, your work, your effort, and all you do for Mexico’s progress,” stated Tere Jiménez.

During the event, Roberto Cardona López, Corporate Director of GASOMAX-XSTOP, noted that the project entails an investment of US$5.5 million and will be situated on a 3.15-hectare site. The facility will offer energy and commercial services, automotive urea dispensers, food outlets, showers, laundry facilities, restaurants, movie theaters, and rest areas. Additionally, it will feature over 90 parking spaces for semi-trucks and continuous video surveillance, aiming to provide specialized services to freight transport operators.

Esaú Garza, the State Secretary of Economic Development, Science, and Technology, highlighted the importance of such investments in securing Aguascalientes’ position as a strategic hub for industrial and logistics activities.

Also in attendance were Leonardo Montañez Castro, Mayor of Aguascalientes; Emanuelle Sánchez Nájera, President of the State Congress Board of Directors; Salvador Maximiliano Ramírez Hernández, Chair of the State Congress Committee on Urban Development and Public Works; Salvador Alcalá Durán, Chair of the State Congress Committee on Economic Development, Cooperative Promotion, and Tourism; Guillermo López, Project Director at GASOMAX-XSTOP; Julio Adolfo Martínez, Commercial and Expansion Director at GASOMAX-XSTOP; Blanca Dolores Gutiérrez Castillo, Synergy Director at GASOMAX-XSTOP; and Carlos de Alba Salas, Director General of the State Economic Development Investment and Administration Trust.
