Coahuila, Aguascalientes& Querétaro Lead Auto Parts Production
Among the 10 states with the highest auto parts production in the country, three posted double-digit annual growth in cumulative value from January through July.
The Coahuila auto parts industry posted the highest increase, at 13.3%, during the reference period, followed by Aguascalientes, which rose to 12.9%, and Querétaro, with growth of 11.2%, according to reports from the National Auto Parts Industry (INA).
Coahuila, in first place, maintains its position as the leading producer, with output rising to US$11.8 billion between January and July; it accounts for 15.9% of Mexico's auto parts production.
Meanwhile, the Aguascalientes manufacturing sector generated US$3.4 billion in the first seven months of the year, becoming the ninth-largest producer by contributing 4.6% of the national total.
Meanwhile, Querétaro's output totaled US$5.9 billion between January and July, maintaining its fifth-place ranking with an 8% share.
Of the seven remaining states in the top 10 auto parts producers, six more posted year-over-year growth: the State of Mexico increased by 9.8%, Nuevo León rose to 9.5%, and San Luis Potosí reached 8.1%, while Puebla grew by 7%, Guanajuato by 6.4%, and Chihuahua by 5.7%; with the exception of Tamaulipas, which posted a negative year-over-year change of -0.5%.
The top ten states in terms of auto parts production are led by Coahuila, which accounts for 15.9%, followed by Guanajuato with 13.4%, Nuevo León with 13.3%, Chihuahua with 8.5%, Querétaro at 8%, San Luis Potosí at 7.1%, Puebla at 6.4%, the State of Mexico at 6%, Aguascalientes at 4.6%, and Tamaulipas at 3.7%, according to the INA.
The top ten producers account for 87% of Mexico's auto parts production, while the remainder is distributed among other states.
