Tier 1 automotive supplier Faurecia has teamed up with business accelerator Emprenderock and the Businesses Coordinator Council (CCE for its acronym in Spanish) to scout and support up to 20 startups focused in technological automotive solutions, Manufactura news outlet recently reported.
According to officials from the France-based manufacturer, the pilot program focuses on projects that may have some automotive application, from ways to mitigate the environmental impact to improvement of safety or development of advanced materials. The first phase has already begun and ends on November 2. The rules can be found here.
According to the report, five of the most viable ideas will be chosen and the winner will obtain sponsorship of the acceleration, which represents an investment of approximately US$ 8,400, a figure that could increase depending on the results of the pilot program. Faurecia intends to integrate some of these startups into real projects of its long-term production chain.
