QUERETARO—The opening of the Toyota plant in Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato, will encourage the establishment of new supplier companies in the Bajío states, particularly in Querétaro. “When a manufacturer arrives in an entity, the first step to follow is to be installed, then comes the turn of all of the Tier 1 companies to settle nearby. The plant that is about to start is the Toyota plant, and after the facility starts operations, there will be a series of projects that will take place naturally, “said the president of the Automotive Cluster of Querétaro, Renato Villaseñor Mendoza. The Toyota plant will begin operations at the end of 2019 with an investment of US $ 700 million and 1,500 jobs are expected to be created. In addition, Villaseñor Mendoza stressed that Queretaro’s automotive industry plans to maintain an annual growth of 5%, similar to 2018. Source: El Economista
