Aeromexico-Delta alliance launches direct flight from Detroit to El Bajio
Starting next April 30, Aeromexico and Delta Air Lines will connect the Bajio region with Detroit, cities with an important industrial dynamism, with a direct flight which will be operated with an Embraer 190 aircraft of 99-passenger capacity on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
“This flight will impact especially the automotive sector, as both Leon and Detroit are important drivers of this industry. Thanks to the connectivity we offer, the commercial exchange will be even more dynamic and will undoubtedly generate greater economic growth for both destinations,” said the Executive Director of Revenues of Aeromexico, Anko van der Werff.
In a statement, he said that the opening of this route reflects the commitment of the alliance to expand its presence in both markets, while offering customers the best options for connecting with strategic points in Mexico and the United States.
“Together with our partners at Aeromexico, we are pleased to offer customers better connections between these two industrial centers and beyond, this new route shows our shared commitment to Detroit, Mexico and our customers in both regions,” said Senior Vice President of Global Sales of Delta, Bob Somers.
He noted that Guanajuato is a state with a significant industrial activity, highlighted by clusters of the automotive, leather and footwear, agri-food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as a tourism powerhouse for its rich history.
For its part, Detroit, better known as Motor City, is the core of the automotive sector in the United States and home to recognized leading companies in that industry.
