Aguascalientes ventures into aerospace industry

AGUASCALIENTES - Aguascalientes will have a space development station in an area provided by Conacyt, however the logistics will be developed by local talent promoted in universities and members of the association "Aguascalientes: Entidad Inteligente", informed its president, David Zapata Leal.

With this and other projects, Aguascalientes will enter fully into the aerospace industry through a series of ongoing projects and others that will materialize as a result of agreements with representatives of the sector and organizations from Aguascalientes such as Ags:EI.

In a meeting in San Lazaro, members of Aguascalientes:Entidad Inteligente (Aguascalientes: Intelligent Entity), presented to the Science, Technology and Innovation Commission, some of the projects in space matters, and soon an agreement will be signed with the participation of higher education institutions, academies, private companies, civil associations, Conacyt centers, and the public sector.

David Zapata explained that during the recent meeting in Mexico City, a definitive agreement was reached with the federal authorities of the space industry to establish the Space Development Center in Aguascalientes. In addition, 13 scientific and technological projects will be implemented.

Regarding the presentation in San Lazaro, of the initiative, "Aguascalientes: Smart Entity", the Observatory and Planetarium were also discussed.

"These actions confirm, reinforce and commit Aguascalientes to the national and international space industry," said David Zapata.

He also highlighted the participation of the Aguascalientes State Business Council (CEEA) in this field that will be increasingly important for Mexico and Latin America.
