Amazon opens logistics network with ASCS

Amazon expanded its logistics offerings with the launch of Amazon Supply Chain Services (ASCS), a platform that integrates freight, distribution, fulfillment, and parcel delivery capabilities for businesses of all sizes and across various industries, including healthcare, automotive, manufacturing, and industrial trade.

This service is designed to bring the logistics infrastructure that the company has built for its own operations and those of third parties to the business market.

The company’s freight network includes more than 80,000 trailers, 24,000 intermodal containers, and over 100 aircraft, enabling the movement of goods on a large scale with varying levels of speed and service. Today, the company moves billions of items annually and supports hundreds of thousands of sellers globally.

Its operations also include a parcel delivery service, which offers deliveries within two to five days and operates seven days a week; this capability is supported by the company’s transportation network, which is already used to deliver billions of packages annually, and incorporates tracking tools from label generation through final delivery.
