AMPIP Invests US$1.4 Million in 40 Industrial Parks
The Mexican Association of Private Industrial Parks (AMPIP) announced the launch of a second batch of 20 industrial parks now in operation during a presidential press conference. These parks add to the 20 unveiled in February, bringing the total to 40 industrial parks contributing to the Mexico Plan’s goal of developing 100 new parks nationwide.
The 40 projects represent a cumulative investment of more than US$1.4 billion by 26 industrial real estate developers. They span 14 states and 28 municipalities and boroughs across the country.
Together, the parks encompass more than 8.2 million square meters of industrial infrastructure, with the capacity to accommodate nearly 420 companies and the potential to generate more than 92,000 jobs.
The second phase comprises 20 industrial parks developed by 13 AMPIP members across eight states and 17 municipalities and boroughs.
These developments represent an initial investment of US$763 million and cover 4.6 million m² designated for industrial facilities. They can accommodate approximately 175 companies and have the potential to generate 32,000 jobs.
The parks are located along four strategic industrial corridors: the Northern Border, with 10 parks in Coahuila and Nuevo León; the AIFA Corridor, with five in Mexico City and the State of Mexico; the Bajío region, with three in Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, and Querétaro; and the Border–Gulf of California corridor, with two in Baja California.
The 20 newly announced parks already have companies established and operating on-site, meaning the investment in industrial infrastructure is beginning to translate into productive activity, opportunities for local suppliers, and regional economic development.
