SAN JOSÉ CHIAPA – “Audi Girls' Day” was originated in Germany almost 20 years ago, with the aim of attracting more women to the automotive world and breaking with the paradigm that it is only for men. And for five years it has been carried out in Mexico.

Recently, the Specialization Center in San José Chiapa welcomed 114 girls between 14 and 17 years old, from San José Chiapa, Rafael Lara Grajales and Nopalucan, to meet and enjoy five workshops: automotive mechanics, bodies, tool mechanics and quality, which were shown by the apprentices who are studying one of the five careers that are also taught there.

Also professors from the Technological University of Puebla (UTP) were guides for the girls during the activities. Niels Bosse, vice president of Human Resources and Organization, highlighted in his speech that they are very proud of having apprentices at Audi Mexico, who have found their way in the automotive industry through Girls' Day.

Currently, around 30% of the students in technical training at Audi Mexico are women, while a total of 269 young people already work with a permanent job at Audi Mexico after the apprenticeship program, of which 26% are women.

The event was attended by the undersecretary of education, America Rosas Tapia, who thanked the automaker: “some girls will dream about having a car of this brand, but others, will dream about working in the manufacture of these vehicles. Today these girls are attendees, but tomorrow they could be working here at the plant, “she said.
