Autoliv inaugurates plant in Aguascalientes

AGUASCALIENTES – With an investment of US$35 million, Autoliv inaugurated its new plant in Aguascalientes, which has an area of 12,000 square meters.

The leading company in automotive safety systems will generate up to 3,000 jobs in the first stage. It also plans to produce up to 3 million steering wheels per year, among other auto parts.

Kevin Fox, President of Autoliv Americas, commented that this is the seventh manufacturing plant in Mexico and one of 20 new plants worldwide with the capacity to produce up to 3 million steering wheels per year; he also assured that they will continue to be the number one firm in the world in the manufacture of automotive safety systems.

After 406 days, this plant opens its doors and stands out from others located in other countries due to its characteristics and its human capital; the Swedish-American company currently has a staff of 800 employees, however, a total of 3 thousand direct jobs will be generated.
