The combination of technology, automation, and the outsourcing of specialized services in areas such as payroll, finance, accounting, and tax compliance not only changes the way companies operate today but also becomes a factor in a city’s competitiveness, particularly for those that attract significant investment and business activity, according to Alejandra Raygoza, a partner at Tax Operate within Deloitte Mexico, in an interview with El Economista magazine.

In addition, administrative departments have evolved from being solely responsible for support functions to becoming strategic units within companies.

“Today, they are increasingly becoming key areas for enabling growth, decision-making, and risk management within organizations,” he noted.

Raygoza also adds that this change reflects greater complexity in tax, labor, regulatory, and compliance matters, so processes such as payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounting require not only efficiency but also reliable information, controls, and the ability to adapt to constant changes.

For this reason, outsourcing services is more important than ever, as it involves not only transferring activities to a third party but also redesigning processes, incorporating new technologies, strengthening controls, taking advantage of economies of scale, and gaining access to specialized talent.

Raygoza clarifies that this opportunity is not limited to large multinational companies; medium-sized companies can also outsource specific processes, thereby gaining access to technology and expertise, rather than relying on costly in-house development.

As a result, Deloitte has announced the expansion of its portfolio of managed services with BPS: Payroll and Finance Operations, two solutions that combine specialized talent, advanced technology, and continuous operations to deliver critical business functions with greater control, efficiency, and scalability.
