Baja California confirms new energy projects

The Federal Electricity Commission’s (CFE) selection of the San Simon and Solitario projects strengthens Baja California’s position as one of the states with the greatest potential for the development of energy infrastructure and renewable energy in Mexico. Both projects are among the 37 selected nationwide from more than 200 proposals evaluated.
Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda emphasized that this decision recognizes the state’s capacity to advance electricity generation projects with a sustainable, long-term focus. She noted that the inclusion of San Simon and Solitario helps consolidate Baja California as a national leader in renewable energy infrastructure and sustainable economic development.
For his part, Secretary of Economy and Innovation Kurt Honold Morales noted that the inclusion of these projects in the national call for proposals strengthens the country’s energy security and reaffirms Baja California as a reliable destination for high-value-added investments.
Baja California’s participation in this process expands opportunities for infrastructure development that supports the region’s industrial and economic growth.
