Banco Plata has raised US$300 million in investments

Banco Plata announced that it has secured US$300 million from international investors and financial institutions to strengthen its capital base and support its expansion in Mexico.
The financing comes from Oaktree, Macquarie Group, Fasanara Capital, and Covalto, and is in addition to a credit line of up to US$500 million led by Nomura, agreed upon late last year.
The institution noted that the funds will provide it with greater financial capacity to support the growth of its operations, having launched its banking activities last March.
The transaction comes weeks after Plata’s parent company closed a US$405 million capital round, reaching a valuation of US$5 billion.
According to the bank, it currently has four million active customers and aims to sustain its growth through a combination of capital, deposits, and institutional financing.
