BENDIX opens new plant in Coahuila

ACUÑA, COAH - Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC (Bendix) inaugurated a new production plant in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, marking a milestone at the forefront of manufacturing technology, the company said in a press release.

The plant covers 17,187 square meters (m2) and will employ highly automated processes to produce two emerging next-generation technologies, Global Scalable Brake Control (GSBC) and Global Scalable Air Treatment (GSAT).

GSBC and GSAT are modular, global systems designed to adapt to diverse customer and vehicle needs. The highly automated plant, with strict environmental controls, will ensure accurate and quality production.

With the start of production of these innovative lines, Bendix seeks to consolidate its commitment to the commercial vehicle industry. In addition, the Ciudad Acuña plant becomes an epicenter of advanced and efficient production.

Piotr Sroka, Bendix president and CEO, said that this new plant is a tangible symbol of the move toward more automated, high-tech manufacturing in Ciudad Acuña.

“It is the result of years of continuous effort to elevate our operational capabilities, while maintaining the quality and reliability that characterizes Bendix products,” he noted.

The new plant represents an achievement for Bendix and is a milestone in the BOOST 2026 program of Knorr-Bremse, Bendix's parent company. This global program drives sustainable growth and innovation in automotive technology, the press release stated.

In addition, this plant has enabled the hiring of approximately 200 employees, which will strengthen Ciudad Acuña's workforce to nearly 2,000 people.
