Borgwarner inaugurates plant in Coahuila
COAHUILA - With an investment of US$46.4 million and the generation of 350 new jobs, Borgwarner has inaugurated its third plant in the state of Coahuila.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas, who highlighted the importance of this expansion for the local economy and the commercial relationship between Mexico and the United States.
The inauguration of this plant marks a significant milestone since the official announcement of Borgwarner-Saltillo's expansion made on March 5, 2023 by then Governor Miguel Angel Riquelme Solis, when he announced the construction of a 17,800 square meter facility dedicated to the production of starter coils, thermostats and chillers, further consolidating Borgwarner's presence in the region.
During the event, Governor Manolo Jimenez Salinas stressed the importance of the United States as Mexico's main trading partner, emphasizing that it is the country that has invested the most in Coahuila and the main destination for Mexican exports.
He explained that the region has the most dynamic American automotive cluster and is developing a work plan for the automotive economic development of the region.
Regarding Tier 1, Borgwarner is a global automotive technology company recognized for its development and supply of advanced vehicle solutions. With operations in more than 20 countries and a network of more than 100 locations, it offers a wide range of products including electric and hybrid propulsion systems, electric motors, inverters and battery management systems.
The company is also dedicated to creating technologies that reduce vehicle emissions, contributing to a cleaner environment and complying with global environmental regulations.
