BorgWarner to expand its operations in Coahuila

SALTILLO, COAH - BorgWarner celebrated the start of the expansion of its plant located north of Saltillo, Coauhuila, where it will invest US$47 million and generate 450 new jobs.

The plant expansion, which will cover an area of 17,800 square meters, processes specialized manufacturing for the automotive and mobility industry, such as starter coils, gas circulation coolers and engine thermostats, and will begin operations in December.

Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís, Governor of Coahuila, recalled that the start of the expansion of the BorgWarner plant in Saltillo represents the 24th company to be announced in Coahuila so far this year.

The Governor stated that the consolidation of the expansion project of its facilities reflects the synergy that state and municipal authorities maintain with businessmen and industrialists, both national and foreign.

The U.S. company, which is headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan, now has four plants in Coahuila, located in Saltillo, Torreón and Ramos Arizpe.

The expansion of the plant, which will cover an area of 17,800 square meters, processes specialized manufacturing for the automotive and mobility industry, such as starter coils, gas circulation coolers and engine thermostats, and will begin operations in December.

The generation of 450 new jobs will be added to the 3,000 jobs already created at its three plants located in the state of Coahuila.

The groundbreaking ceremony was also attended by Dave Kaitschuck, vice-president of the Morse Systems Division, as well as company executives and state and municipal officials.
