Continental to invest US$90 million in new plant in Aguascalientes
AGUASCALIENTES - The German company Continental announced that it will invest US$90 million in a new hydraulic hose production plant for industrial purposes in the state of Aguascalientes.
Continental's new factory will increase regional manufacturing capabilities and will generate around 200 jobs in the first stage.
"Strengthening our industrial business in the Americas region is paramount for us," Philip Nelles, member of Continental's Executive Board for the ContiTech Group Sector, said in the statement.
The new plant will be located in the Vesta Industrial Park in the south of the state and will have a total area of 85,000 square meters.
Construction will begin in the second half of 2024 and is expected to start operations in the second half of 2025. The facility will be Continental's 22nd in Mexico, where it employs around 23,000 workers, and the second in the state of Aguascalientes.
