DANA Calls for Transforming Supplier Relationships into Strategic Partnerships

During the 2026 Querétaro Industrial Summit, DANA, a supplier of industrial equipment, highlighted the need to transform the traditional relationship between buyers and suppliers into a model based on collaboration, innovation, and the joint creation of value, as part of the conference “From Supplier to Strategic Partner: What Is DANA Looking for in Its Supply Chain?”, presented by Raúl Lizarriturri, Director of Purchasing at DANA Mexico.

DANA’s participation focused on highlighting the company’s evolution within the automotive industry and, more importantly, on presenting the characteristics it seeks in the suppliers with whom it works.

The company has extensive experience in the sector and operates in both the light-duty and commercial vehicle segments, with a product line that includes components such as axles, drive shafts, pinions, ring gears, and other products related to power transmission.

In Mexico, DANA operates in several states and has a significant presence in Querétaro, where it carries out manufacturing activities related to the machining, assembly, and forging of components. During the conference, the company also announced the expansion of its operations and production capacity—primarily in foundry operations—as part of the evolution of its operations in the country.

DANA is seeking suppliers capable of anticipating conflicts, proposing solutions, and actively participating in process optimization, rather than simply responding to needs that have already been identified.

The company notes that its evaluation of suppliers goes beyond price, service, and on-time delivery. The new model requires factors such as initiative, transparency, and innovation. With this approach, DANA presents a vision for its supplier relationships in which the growth of companies and the evolution of their supply chains must occur in tandem with suppliers capable of becoming partners who can meet the demands of an increasingly dynamic and competitive industry.
