DiDi hopes to bring 100,000 electric vehicles to Mexico.

The electrification of transportation, electric vehicles, and the reduction of operating costs are now gaining momentum, making them a business opportunity for drivers and automakers. For this reason, DiDi Mexico set out to bring together more than 300 drivers and mobility companies, automakers, and service providers during the DiDi EVoluciona event. The goal: to bring new vehicle technologies to those who rely on their cars as their primary work tool.

The event was attended by companies such as JAC, GAC, and BYD, as well as Vemo Watts, LAFA, SEVIA Mobility, and Javilu Transportes, not to mention other companies involved in mobility and electrification.

DiDi's strategy is to strengthen partnerships with manufacturers and suppliers in order to help as many drivers as possible switch from internal combustion vehicles to electric models and other low-emission technologies, thereby improving the economic performance of its operations.

During the event, Vania Terrones, manager of JAC Electric Vehicles, emphasized that the discussion on electromobility should focus not only on environmental benefits but also on total cost of ownership.

According to what was discussed at the meeting, drivers who use their vehicles for long hours and travel distances greater than those of the average private car would benefit greatly from this in terms of energy costs and maintenance costs, which could make this measure one of the main factors justifying the initial investment in an electric vehicle.

In addition, for automakers and mobility platforms, this shift would represent a significant channel for selling electric vehicles and would provide operational experience under intensive usage conditions, while infrastructure companies, fleet operators, and service providers seek to integrate into an ecosystem that is still expanding.
