EcoCable allocates US$31 million in Durango

With its expansion into Durango, EcoCable is taking a new step toward strengthening the industrial supply chain in northern Mexico. With an investment of more than US$31 million, the company announced the construction of a new industrial facility in Gomez Palacio, which will create 200 direct specialized jobs and expand local production capacity in a strategic segment for industries such as automotive and technology.
Once construction is complete, the company plans to begin the hiring process in early 2027, bringing on specialized staff for the new operations.
The new facility will be dedicated to the manufacture of oxygen-free copper wire, a high-value component used in various industrial applications due to its conductivity and performance. In the automotive sector, this material is used in electrical and electronic systems—areas that have gained greater importance due to the growing incorporation of advanced technologies and electrification processes in vehicles.
In addition to increasing the region’s manufacturing capacity, the investment aims to strengthen the integration of the local supply chain. Producing this material in Durango will reduce dependence on imported materials and bring key components closer to the country’s existing manufacturing processes.
