Estafeta and Amazon Team Up in Nuevo Laredo

Nuevo Laredo is set to add a new air cargo operation to its logistics hub, through which Estafeta will begin operations in a joint venture with Amazon, using Boeing 737-400 cargo aircraft.

Sources close to Estafeta noted that flights are scheduled to begin soon, a move that would strengthen cargo connectivity at Nuevo Laredo International Airport and increase the capacity for distributing goods from one of the main trade crossings between Mexico and the United States.

“This is very good news for Nuevo Laredo and Tamaulipas because it will help strengthen logistics operations; it will also naturally boost air transportation services, which will soon open up new markets, increasing competitiveness and economic development,” explained Raúl Llamas Cervantes, president of the Tamaulipas Aerocluster.

The launch of this service is a significant step toward integrating air transport into the robust logistics chain that operates daily in Nuevo Laredo, a key city for land-based trade between Mexico and the United States.

The new cargo flights are expected to complement the region's road, rail, and customs infrastructure, providing an alternative for goods that require shorter transit times and faster distribution systems.

For Nuevo Laredo, the arrival of an operation linked to Estafeta and Amazon adds a new element to the infrastructure that supports the region's foreign trade.
