Famex and Embraer sign memorandum of understanding for aerospace development

BRAZIL - During the International Air and Space Fair 2024 (Fidae), the Brazilian company Embraer and the Mexico Aerospace Fair (Famex) signed a memorandum of understanding in Santiago de Chile to collaborate on development opportunities in the Mexican aerospace industry.

The agreement will facilitate future cooperation with local entities and companies, as well as the promotion of Embraer Defense & Security products in Mexico.

Brazil is the guest of honor at Famex 2025. Thus, the aviation company Embraer bets to be one of the protagonists of the new edition of the fair. It will present some of the most innovative aircraft in the Defense and Security markets in addition to Commercial Aviation, having extensive customer support solutions, reinforcing its presence in Latin America.

Bilateral trade between Mexico and Brazil is of utmost relevance. In 2019 alone it reached US$10 billion, of which 42% corresponds to the automotive sector. Brazil is Mexico's main trading partner in Latin America and the 7th destination of Mexican exports worldwide. In 2022, Mexico exported products to Brazil totaling US$4.55 billion, against Brazil's imports to Mexico, which totaled US$12.1 billion.

Brazil has been selected as the guest of honor at the Mexico 2025 Aerospace Fair (Famex) due to the importance of the Brazilian aerospace industry - leader in Latin America - with aircraft manufacturer Embraer at the forefront.

One of Embraer's most attractive products is the KC-390 transport because it is adapted to Mexico's military transport needs. One of these aircraft is expected to be exhibited at Famex2025. It is worth mentioning that in the 2023 edition, Embraer presented its new E-195E2 aircraft in Mexico with very positive results.
