Ford to manufacture its new Maverick pickup in Hermosillo

HERMOSILLO – Ford Motors confirmed the arrival of the compact pickup, Ford Maverick, which will be assembled in Mexico under the same production line as the new Bronco Sport, of the Hermosillo, Sonora plant, which was adapted with a million-dollar investment to adapt to the requirements of the United States-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) agreement.

Under its commitment to concentrate on the demand for pickups and SUVs, Maverick will share the Hermosillo facility with the Bronco and the Transit Connect.

The idea is that this year it will be on sale in the Mexican market, this unit will be exported to the United States and Canada, as well as to take advantage of South American markets such as Brazil.

It is worth mentioning that in the summer of 2020, Ford Motors invested US$1.1 billion in the Hermosillo, Sonora plant in order to adapt it to the requirements of the USMCA.
