Germany-based Dräxlmaier Corporation will invest over US$21 million to expand its plant in the Municipality of Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, thus creating 1,800 direct jobs.

This investment is due to the upcoming installation of the BMW and Ford assemblers in the capital's Metropolitan Zone.

Dräxlmaier manufactures electrical harnesses and interior parts for Volkswagen and Cadillac at four facilities located in Puebla, Jalisco and San Luis Potosi.

In Europe, the company has been a BMW supplier for over 50 years and it's expected to be a key partner for the assembly plant in the works at San Luis Potosi Automotive Cluster.
