General Motors will unveil the redesigned 2019 GMC Sierra on March 1 at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit and according to AutoNews, it will be more differentiated from its Chevrolet Silverado sibling than ever before.

Citing an invitation as source, the website says GM will include the high-end Sierra Denali at the presentation.

Despite expected exterior and interior differentiation with the two pickups, the Sierra's specs and powertrains are expected to be similar, if not the same, as the Silverado's.

Crew cabs for both Silverado and GMC Sierra (with four large doors) are built in Silao, Guanajuato while regular and double cab pickups are made in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Heavy-duty pickups are made in Flint, Michigan.

According to Autonews, the redesign and re-engineering of the next Silverado and its GMC counterpart, the Sierra, are the biggest product program ever undertaken by GM. The company is spending nearly US$ 3 billion alone to upgrade the three plants that build the Silverado and Sierra.
