Grupo Barcelo invests in executive facilities

Grupo Barcelo’s arrival in Nuevo Leon, with an investment of US$50 million, is a direct response to the demand for business-class infrastructure driven by the region’s industrial boom and nearshoring.

Governor Samuel Garcia announced the acquisition of the former Hotel Camino Real in the municipality of San Pedro Garza, Nuevo Leon. The governor explained that this project lays the foundation for expanding the corporate lodging options required by the state’s current economic growth.

With this purchase, the Spanish consortium is betting on growth in urban locations strategic for business travel. Connectivity with the European market is also emerging as a key factor for local industrial development; Avoris, the group’s travel division, operates the airline Iberojet and transports nearly 200,000 travelers to Mexico annually from Madrid, Barcelona, and Lisbon.
