Grupo Rifel Opens New Plant in Querétaro
The Venezuelan group Rifel, which specializes in industrial bread and pastry production, has opened its second plant in Mexico, located in the municipality of Colón, Querétaro.
The project represents an investment of US$100 million through 2030. The company plans to triple its production capacity and create more than 1,500 direct jobs.
David Rifel Auvert, Grupo Rifel’s Director of Administration and Finance, stated that the company currently employs 800 people and aims to expand its workforce to 1,500 employees.
With the new plant now operational, the company plans to expand its market presence and business partnerships to strengthen its reach across Mexico and explore export opportunities in the United States and Central America.
The executive noted that the company originated as a family business in Venezuela more than two decades ago.
The new facility will feature automation systems, robotics, and technologies designed to streamline product changeovers, accommodate varying production volumes, and ensure consistent product quality at a larger scale.
During the facility’s inauguration, Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri González recalled the opening of Rifel’s first plant serving the Mexican market in 2016.
