GUADALAJARA – The Guadalajara Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport (GDL) obtained the Safe Travels seal, granted by the World Travel and Tourism Council, which is only given to establishments that correctly apply the protocols to prevent the spread of COVID- 19.

According to the terminal, comprehensive measures have been established to guarantee an experience of safety and trust, since they are the third busiest airport in the country, after Mexico City (AICM) and Cancun (CUN).

Among the established measures are: temperature measurement with remote thermometers, visual inspection of all travelers, thermographic camera installations, antibacterial gel dispensers, informative videos, questionnaires, among others.

"Thanks to these efforts, major airlines have begun to establish national and international routes to the Guadalajara International Airport," said the terminal belonging to Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP).

Among the restored services are direct trips to Tijuana, Cancun and Los Cabos, served by Aeroméxico; similarly, Viva Aerobus will launch flights to Mexico City. For its part, the ultra-low-cost airline, Volaris, connects the Charlotte and Guadalajara airports on a direct route.
