Guanajuato exports over US$21 billion

The Governor of Guanajuato, Miguel Marquez, announced that the State's exports skyrocketed from US$200 million to over US$21 billion over the course of 25 years. “This task of propelling Guanajuato exports was generated along with the creation of the Coordination of Development of Foreign Commerce (COFOCE) 25 years ago, a State organization providing assistance, support and accompaniment to companies in their effort for conquering new International markets”, stated Marquez Marquez. In addition, he stated that the export activity in the State represents nearly 200,000 jobs at highly competitive companies. He reports that Guanajuato has over 1,090 export companies located in 31 municipalities, earning the automotive sector the top exporter spot, second place is the agri-food sector, followed by the metal-mechanic industry.
