Guanajuato: Heading toward an energy future

Guanajuato took a strategic step toward shaping its energy future by signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Economy and POLEA A.C., a partnership that will contribute to the design of the State Energy Strategy.

Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Muñoz Ledo is promoting an agenda aimed at strengthening Guanajuato’s competitiveness through strategic planning, innovation, and the creation of conditions that ensure sustainable economic growth for the coming decades.

This collaboration represents an important step in the process of integrating the State Energy Strategy, an instrument that seeks to consolidate a long-term vision to address the challenges and opportunities the state faces in the energy sector, taking into account the needs of industry, productive sectors, and society.

The development of the State Energy Strategy aims to strengthen the state’s capacity to address challenges associated with industrial growth, the energy transition, sustainability, and future demand for energy infrastructure—fundamental elements for maintaining Guanajuato’s competitiveness as one of the country’s main economic engines.

Likewise, this initiative will help create a roadmap to promote institutional coordination, attract investment, develop strategic projects, and strengthen conditions that foster economic growth and generate opportunities for the people of Guanajuato.

Through these actions, the Government of the People reaffirms its commitment to developing forward-looking public policies, strengthening the foundations that will allow Guanajuato to continue consolidating its position as a competitive, innovative state, prepared to respond to the economic and energy development challenges of the 21st century.
