Guanajuato leads auto parts production in the Bajio region: INA

GUANAJUATO - The National Auto Parts Industry (INA) announced that from January to November 2023, the state of Guanajuato ranked first in auto parts production in the Bajío region.

During said period, the auto parts industry in the state registered a value of US$14.5 billion.

On the other hand, the second place went to Queretaro with US$8.8 billion, the third to San Luis Potosi with US$7.5 billion, the fourth to Aguascalientes with US$4.8 billion and the fifth place to Jalisco with US$3.4 billion.

In its latest report on the auto parts industry, INA stated that the northern region of the country concentrates the largest production of auto parts with 43.3 percent, followed by the Bajio region with 35.1 percent, and the central zone with 16.2 percent.

From January to November 2023, the most influential states in auto parts production in Mexico were: Coahuila, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Chihuahua and Querétaro.

Guanajuato ranked first in auto parts production in the Bajío region and second nationally.

Armando Cortés, CEO of INA, mentioned that from January to October 2023, auto parts production in Mexico reached US$101.2 billion. In addition, Mexico is positioned as the fourth largest auto parts producer in the world.

Likewise, a 3.1 percent growth in production is estimated for 2024, which could reach US$125.5 billion.
