Guanajuato Seeks to Strengthen Guanajuato’s MSMEs
Seeking to strengthen entrepreneurial capabilities and create better conditions for the development of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), the state government, through the Ministry of Economy, announced a collaboration between the Coppel Foundation, FUNDES, and ASKHA Mexico to promote the “Coppel Emprende” project and launch the “Guanajuato 2026 Seed Capital” call for proposals.
This initiative involves a joint investment of US$58,000, contributed by the Ministry of Economy and the Coppel Foundation, which will be used to fund the project's operations and provide in-kind support.
The state governor, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, hopes to foster partnerships that will provide entrepreneurs and businesswomen with training, support, and productive equipment, thereby strengthening the growth of economic entities and the economy of Guanajuato families.
Through the coppelemprende.com/guanajuato platform, entrepreneurs and business owners will have free access to more than 100 training lessons of varying lengths, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They will also have the opportunity to participate in live webinars and become part of a community dedicated to continuous learning.
As part of the “Guanajuato Seed Capital 2026” initiative, at least 100 businesses in Guanajuato are expected to benefit from in-kind support of up to US$464 for the purchase of equipment, work tools, and, in specific cases, raw materials.
The project will be implemented by Askha México, with support from FUNDES and the Ministry of Economy, under a public-private partnership model that aims to expand access to business training and strengthen the sustainability and growth of businesses in Guanajuato.
Through this partnership, combined with the vision of Guanajuato SUMA, the state government reaffirms its commitment to fostering a more inclusive and competitive economy by providing training, tools, and support to empower entrepreneurs and drive Guanajuato’s growth.
