Santa Lucia airport hasnt’ been officially endorsed by IATA
MEXICO— The International Air Transport Association (IATA) clarified that it has not yet approved the project of the new Santa Lucia airport, but they are pleased with the government’s invitation to review it.
The director of IATA for Mexico, Cuitláhuac Gutiérrez, affirmed that it is still premature to give an approval to this work, but they are looking for more details about it.
“We are pleased to be already collaborating with the government, it is what we expected, what we had asked for,” said the director.
Gutierrez reported that they have held two meetings with the federal government in order to address this issue, where IATA has contributed ideas and proposals on the issue of airspace.
