INDEX Reynosa Partners with COBIFER
To expand its business opportunities within the manufacturing industry and strengthen business integration in the region, INDEX Reynosa has signed four partnership agreements with COBIFER, during the swearing-in ceremony for that institution’s new board of directors for the 2026–2028 term.
The agreements with the Binational Council for the Economic Development of Reynosa, the Tamaulipas Electrical and Electronics Cluster, the San Antonio Manufacturers Association, and the Greater Houston Manufacturers Association highlighted the strength of the border region’s connections, which drive development and attract investors.
Alfredo Guajardo, president of INDEX Reynosa, highlighted the organization’s current representation of 132 maquiladora companies and approximately 120,000 jobs—figures that have positioned Reynosa as INDEX’s third-largest chapter nationwide, with the goal of continuing to grow.
The business leader emphasized that one of Reynosa’s main assets for companies is its talent. He noted that educational institutions have played a fundamental role in training young people to join the industry and that this human capital is one of the factors that make the region competitive.
Thus, these agreements have been a great opportunity to expand their collaboration with business organizations in San Antonio and Houston, as well as to strengthen ties with Tamaulipas’s electrical and electronics sector and COBIFER, creating channels that can facilitate new business relationships and opportunities for suppliers in the region.
Guajardo emphasizes that the growth of manufacturing companies has a multiplier effect on the industrial ecosystem, particularly in terms of the supply chain and economic development.
The president of INDEX Reynosa also spoke about the competition the industry is currently facing on a global scale, noting that it is essential for organizations and companies in Reynosa to work in a coordinated manner to strengthen the region's position.
For INDEX Reynosa, this integration strategy transforms the region into an integrated economy that encompasses Reynosa, Rio Bravo, and the Texas Valley, where strengthening business ties helps create new opportunities for industry, suppliers, and talent.
