The brands of tequila Jose Cuervo and Sauza, of the companies Jose Cuervo and Suntory Holdings, are the ones that dominate almost all the markets of the world, according to data of the international consultant Euromonitor.

The tequila industry reported that for the ninth consecutive year, it broke its own record of exports reaching 222.7 million liters in 2018, 5.5% more than in 2017. The tequila industry has had such a great performance that actually, Cámara Nacional de la Industria Tequilera announced that next March 16 will be celebrated as the first National Tequila Day.

According to Cámara Nacional de la Industria Tequilera, more than 70,000 Mexican families are directly employed in the tequila industry, which has 1,800 different brands with denomination of origin.

By 2019, tequila entrepreneurs expect a 5% growth in sales and diversify exports to European and Asian countries.
