Industrial parks in Jalisco predict growth of 15% by 2027

Due to growth in the electronics industry, as well as the expansion of the logistics sector, the Jalisco State Industrial Parks Association (APIEJ) projects that the state’s industrial space will increase by 10% to 15% by 2027.

“In 2025, APIEJ ended the year with 677,000 square meters of new industrial space. This year, we expect to reach a similar figure, and next year, I believe we will exceed it by at least 10% to 15% due to the large-format facilities coming to the state,” said Roberto Álvarez Silva, president of the association.

The executive emphasized that the performance of the electronics and logistics industries has been driving the large-scale development of industrial parks to accommodate both manufacturing plants and the growing demand for goods storage and distribution facilities.

“We’ve been growing at an annual rate of 8% over the past four years. This year has been surprisingly good, and we expect to meet our goal of developing more than 600,000 square meters, representing an 8% increase compared with last year,” he said.

According to figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the electronics sector accounted for 81.5% of Jalisco’s exports during the first half of 2026. Álvarez Silva expects the industry to continue expanding significantly in the coming years.

“We’ve already been to Taiwan and California, and the projected growth of the electronics industry here in Jalisco, particularly in Guadalajara, will be exponential. I can tell you that existing operations will grow by 80% to 100% over the next three or four years,” he emphasized.

Álvarez Silva cited Foxconn as an example of this expansion. The company currently operates 20 warehouse facilities in industrial parks affiliated with APIEJ and plans to increase that number to 26 by the end of the year.
