INMEX will change the way it ensures compliance and oversees its supply chains
A new phase is beginning for INMEX with its INMEX 4.0 initiative, which focuses on evolving from a procedure-based oversight model to one based on data, risk profiles, and traceability, with the goal of distinguishing companies’ performance by focusing on audit and inspection.
As part of the INMEX 2026 Forum, “The Future of Compliance in Mexico’s Export Manufacturing Industry,” organized by Indez Mexico Leon, this plan was presented to authorities, specialists, and industry representatives, who are analyzing the changes that are transforming foreign trade.
Presented by Javier Ortiz, national director of the Foreign Trade and Customs Committee at Index Nacional, INMEX 4.0 is viewed as a regulatory modernization agenda that aligns with the Mexico Plan and seeks to reshape North American supply chains.
The initiative aims to strengthen compliance with the law in INMEX’s operations through its performance and risk profiles, integrating various activities such as re-registration, periodic compliance monitoring, administrative simplification, trade facilitation, modernization of the Digital Service Window, and the creation of a Single File. With the aim of strengthening interoperability among agencies and throughout the supply chain to promote the development of content of national and regional value.
INMEX 4.0 would operate by categorizing companies based on their compliance profiles. The three-tiered project proposes evaluating the performance of companies with positive compliance profiles, those with intermediate profiles, and high-risk companies.
