MEXICO  — The Interjet airline announced that, starting on June 5th, it will begin operations on the following new routes: Medellín-México, Medellín-Cancún, Guayaquil-México, Guayaquil-Cancún and Lima-Cancún.

With this network expansion to South American routes and destinations, the airline "will continue its air connectivity strategy, while responding to the growing demand of passengers on international flights, which reflected an increase of 33.9% during the 2018, compared to the previous year according to the company.

It is worth mentioning that most of these routes are already operated by other Mexican and international airlines. For example, Aeromexico will debut its flights from the CDMX to Guayaquil in May, while LATAM has two daily flights from Lima to Cancun.

Interjet tickets are now available and have an introductory rate that goes from US$319 in order to travel from Mexico City and from US$259 for the Medellin-Cancun route.

Interjet currently connects with eight countries in the Americas: Canada, the United States, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Cuba, Colombia and Peru.
