Intuitive Surgical invests in Mexicali & creates jobs

Intuitive Surgical has expanded its operations in Baja California at the Carranza Campus in Mexicali; this initiative is expected to create 1,500 jobs and facilitate the development of more technologically advanced processes, thereby strengthening the company’s role within the global medical device industry.

This project is part of the company’s third phase of growth in the region, where it has been operating since 2008. Currently, the firm has 2,300 employees in Mexicali, consolidating an operational base that has evolved toward higher-value-added activities within its global network.

The campus expansion not only increases production capacity but also raises the technological profile of the operation in Mexico, in line with the global trend of relocating specialized processes. This type of investment positions Baja California as a key hub in the manufacturing of high-precision medical devices.
