Kia reaches 300,000 cars milestone at its Nuevo Leon plant

Kia Motors Mexico in recent days produced the 300,000th car at its Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon plant in a record time of a year and a half, the company said in a statement.
The Korean automaker builds at its Pesqueria plant the Forte and Rio models, both on sedan and hatchback versions, as well as the Hyundai Accent, to supply the domestic market and aims to close the year with exports to 68 countries.
Horacio Chavez, CEO of Kia Motors Mexico said the automaker produced 110,000 vehicles in 2016, during its first seven months of operations; while for this year it is estimated a production of 250,000 units.
It was a Forte sedan of the highest trim level the 300,000th unit that came out of the assembly line, which has capacity to manufacture a car every 53 seconds.
