Kia Forte named ‘best compact car of 2019’ at MotorWeek Drivers Choice Awards

Kia Motors America announced that the 2019 Kia Forte – built in Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon – was recognized at the MotorWeek Drivers Choice Awards, as the “best compact car of 2019”.

John Davis, creator and host of MotorWeek, the longest running automotive television series in the U.S., commented that “with the Forte 2019, Kia took an excellent compact car, added interior space, more technology and a more dynamic aesthetic and the result final is a very accessible and great-looking car that. In our opinion, is also the most enjoyable everyday vehicle in its category.”

MotorWeek's editors handle more than 150 cars and light trucks each year, and evaluate them according to a series of factors including their price, characteristics, performance, passenger space, fuel consumption, reliability and resale value, among other parameters.

The Driver's Choice awards are the final result of the analysis of each vehicle technical qualities.

In this regard, Orth Hedrick, director of Automotive Planning and Telematics of Kia Motors America, said that the Forte 2019 is manufactured “with the goal of making it the best in its category and the fact of having received a prize from MotorWeek and its highly respected experts is so significant, it fully validates the efforts of the entire team.”

The winners of the Driver's Choice Awards appear on the Motorweek.org portal and were featured in a special episode aired on PBS.
