PESQUERIA — Kia Motors México announced it will halt operations at its assembly plant located in Pesquería Nuevo León as of April 6th, getting back to normality until there are the adequate conditions to do so, reported Víctor Alemán Soto, communication manager of the plant.

He noted that the objective of this work stoppage is to contribute to the federal government’s disposals to reduce the chances of contagion from COVID-19.

He clarified that there are no cases of coronavirus at the Kia plant, neither in South Korea, since the company has taken sanitary measures since January to avoid contagion.

The manager reported that the monthly production of the plant is 30,000 units, that is, 1,000 units per day, focused on Hyundai's Forte, Rio and Accent models.
