South Korea-based Kolon Glotech, a supplier of textile and leather components for automotive interiors, opened a facility in Saltillo, Coahuila, to produce seat covers.
The company invested US$ 8 million and expects to recruit 500 workers once the plant is fully operational, according to a statement by the local government.
Kolon Glotech started operations in Coahuila last year with a US$ 12 million investment to supply parts for General Motors, but the company found new business opportunities with the arrival of a Kia assembly plant to the neighbor state of Nuevo Leon.
