Korean-based textile manufacturer Hyosung Global Safety Textiles (GST) officially opened its second plant in Mexico, this time in Torreon, Coahuila, to supply fabric and airbags for the automotive industry.

The company invested US$ 18 million to build a 25,000 square-feet facility at the PYMES Industrial Park. The plant is expected to create 700 jobs once it reaches its full capacity with the addition of automotive floor carpet manufacturing.

Hyosung GST broke ground to build this facility in June 2016 and started partial operations nine months later, in March 2017. The company also operates a production site in Ensenada, Baja California.
