Hwaseung R&A Co. Ltd., a South Korean manufacturer of rubber products, recently revealed it has doubled its revenue from the automotive industry since 2013, by gaining new supply agreements with major automakers in North America.

In an interview to RubberNews, company officials revealed Hwaseung started operations in Mexico with a 66,000-square-feet facility in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, to supply weather strips and fluid handling products such as hoses for high pressure, air controlling and brake applications for Korean automaker KIA.

Since then, Hwaseung has gained additional contracts to supply products for Detroit automakers. For that end, the plant has expanded to 137,500 square feet and a second facility has been added for a total US$26 million investment and 928 job positions in both sites. The second plant started operations by the end of last year.
