Kostal to build its new plant in Queretaro

QUERETARO – The German company Grupo KOSTAL announced a new investment of US$105 million for the construction of its third production plant in Queretaro, with which it expects to generate 750 new jobs.

This would be the company's fourth state-of-the-art electronics plant in the country, which will cover an area of 41,000 square meters and will be located in the FINSA III Industrial Park.

The president and CEO of KOSTAL North America, Harry Asher, said that this is a multi-million dollar investment that will allow KOSTAL to efficiently serve the production operations of customers in North America.

For his part, KOSTAL Automóvil Electrik's CSO, Tino Naumann, said that a new state-of-the-art plant will be built in Queretaro to manufacture power electronics components for the EV market.

Naumann stressed that phase one will be completed in 2023, where OBC (on board charger) as well as different electronic components will be manufactured to serve the growing EV market. The facility will feature advanced technologies and provide a clean environment for production.

The minister of Sustainable Development, Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, pointed out that this new facility will have advanced technology that will enable it to meet the demand for electronic components, and that it will also be the company's first power electronics plant in North America, which will be key to the development of electric vehicle technology, a growing market that requires skilled talent like the one in Queretaro.
