Logistics and mobility account for 7.4% of Guanajuato’s GDP

The logistics and mobility sector in Guanajuato accounts for 7.4% of the state’s gross domestic product and has attracted investments totaling US$714.62. This sector has also created jobs for 51,094 people and ranks sixth among the industries that contribute the most value to the state.

Its geographic location, infrastructure, human talent, and industrial base have made the state a strategic hub for the movement of goods, passengers, and products. The sector’s business network consists of 873 economic entities involved in freight transportation, passenger mobility, and warehousing services.

Companies in the sector are primarily located in municipalities such as León, Celaya, Silao, Irapuato, Salamanca, Apaseo el Grande, and Villagrán, among others, which are part of the main industrial corridors. This distribution makes it possible to connect industrial parks, production centers, domestic markets, and export routes.

One of the largest-scale projects is the Walmart Distribution Center in Silao, whose construction represents an investment of US$550 million. The complex employs 1,044 workers and strengthens the capacity for storing and distributing goods from the Guanajuato industrial corridor.
