Marca Guanajuato supports more than 9,000 companies.

Marca Guanajuato is a program that aims to foster the development, growth, and strengthening of commerce by promoting products and services unique to the state of Guanajuato, in the domestic and international markets through certification. Currently, the program operates in 38 municipalities and has certified more than 9,130 companies.

Through “Conectando con la Gente,” a weekly program on communication and citizen participation hosted by Guanajuato Governor Libia Denisse Garcia

The program was presented, and citizens were invited to share their ideas and develop businesses using tools that will be available to help them increase their income through this certification.

Similarly, during the program, the governor and the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villaseñor, spoke with several business owners from Guanajuato who are part of Marca Guanajuato and who are already marketing their products abroad. Paulina, owner of Paulina Casamadrid and PC Company Manufacture, and Kevin, founder of Salsas La Kalaka, were the two young entrepreneurs who shared their stories.

The program reported on the more than ten years that Marca Guanajuato has been supporting and recognizing the origin, quality, identity, and excellence of the state’s products and services.

The Secretary of Economy emphasizes that Marca Guanajuato is not merely a label affixed to a product. Rather, it is a program that offers guidance on formalizing businesses, certification, training, digitalization, trade fairs, connections with buyers, exporting, and access to financing.

To date, various trade events have been held, including 20 gatherings and more than 1,246 business meetings, with the participation of 840 local supplier companies. Of these, 519 carry the “Marca Guanajuato” label, and 282 are led by women. Estimated sales exceed US$21 million.

These connections help local businesses connect with supermarket chains, department stores, and companies in various sectors.

It is worth noting that these requirements are part of an evaluation and certification process, and when companies do not yet comply with any of the guidelines, they are provided with guidance to help them strengthen their processes.
