Mercury Marine invests US$12 million in Ciudad Juarez

CIUDAD JUAREZ — The manufacturer of harnesses for marine engines, Mercury Marine placed the first stone of what will be its new production plant, which will be located in the Bermudez industrial park in Ciudad Juarez.

Said expansion will consist of a construction of 7,153.53 m², additional to a 56,6811 M² area in the whole ship. The project contemplates a total investment of around US$12 million and will begin operations in September 2019.

Once the expansion is completed, Mercury Marine will grow approximately 33%, generating over 300 jobs. The planning for this expansion began in the middle of 2018, as the need for more space was quickly detected by the company's directors.
